The angle of the light is shifting to late summer.
I wake up from naps craving peaches, ricotta, and sea salt.
I find myself thinking about and sending prayers of gratitude and release to old loves, old projects, old friends.
I sit with the archetypes I am calling in to my life in the garden, and they show me where to weed.
My baby fights naps in bed, but falls asleep easily with the gentle rhythm of his father’s newfound joy: running in the late summer afternoon.
This is the rhythm of this season in my life. It is a beautiful life, slower and more spacious than Seth or I had known for a while. We do meaningful work and we are getting into routines and systems in how we design our lives that will make the space for us to do more of the work we love, together and separately, with the clients and students we love, and those we have yet to meet.
Seeing the transformations and increased creative capacity, spiritual clarity, grounded confidence, and gentle momentum in the lives of the people we work with is such a joy, and we are creating a few new structures to make it easier for us to share with others, creations that I’ll be sharing more of as they ripen.
But right now is a special time. From July 22nd to September 3rd, we are in a unique window of our lives where Venus is moving between the Earth and the Sun in such a way that she appears to be moving backward. I have been dropping deeper and deeper into Venus recently, receiving a beautiful Venus reading with Dajé Aloh, aka thestorydoula just yesterday, and connecting deeply with the Empress archetype in all her rooted Venusian ecological power recently in Dajé’s archetypal embodiment course.
Venus themes are also inherently present in the Sex, God, and Money course I’ve been leading with Seth which is entering its third and final month, and the insights and collective growth and wisdom in this course has been truly heart opening.
My own creative process in stewarding, creating, and teaching Sex, God, and Money, has been a very visual one. Each week, I make two educational decks, one to introduce the themes of the week and prompt self inquiry and dialogue within one’s life; and the other to guide the teaching in the live session of the course. To develop visual language to reflect an expansive, neutral, relationship with these heavy topics in our lives has been revealing. I consistently turn to nature imagery, referencing lush, biodiverse, green landscapes for Money, flowers at all stages of bloom and release for Sex, and wide open, warm colored, spacious skies and waterways for God. Rainbows and spiderwebs and spirals for integration.
It is with this visual vernacular that I have been crafting my own digital altars to explore and deepen my relationship with the themes arising at this moment in my life, looking at the divinity of eroticism in motherhood, celebration of the sensual maternal body, and regeneration of ancestral wisdom within my own body.
Originally I began offering Digital Altars as a creative, spiritually informed strategic tool for use in visualizing big changes or creations in a client's life. It’s still that, but recently it’s been feeling richer, juicier, and deeply centered on Venus’s themes in our lives.
These themes include love, sex, pleasure, money, culture, and relationships. These are themes in life that I have been an ardent student of my whole life, working with the complex shadows and finding the gold within them over and over and over again.
I do not believe that Venus retrograde is a season for making massive changes in these areas, but a time for deep review, reflection, and surfacing the longings, the fears, the needs that have gone unspoken, unacted upon, or even wholly unknown within us. It is this process that can yield the best results when we do step into the changes that are calling us.
It is with a curious commitment to consciously and creatively working with these themes in my own life and with others that I felt inspired, last Saturday, to offer Digital Altar Sessions to six people who are seeking connection, reflection, and support in any of these areas of their lives. I began the first one yesterday and it is a truly beautiful, unique piece of visual poetry that I am eager to introduce to it’s recipient.
Digital Altars are a living system. Part vision board, part mind map, part bespoke collage, part directional orientation map, part mandala, part meditation tool. All living, evolving, and adaptable over time. Each one has its own unique geometry, archetypes, and textual elements. When we meet for our 90 minute session to dive into your altar and the questions and motivations at its heart, you will be supported in fully owning this creation as something you can edit, change, add to, and respond to as your questions unfold into wisdom in your life.
They are a joyful, devotional creation, and offering them at half of their regular price for the six people seeking creative companionship and support at this time feels really good in my body. If you feel you’re one of them, feel so welcome to reach out and let me know, I’d be happy to answer any questions. You can learn more about the overall process here, and if you know you’d like to move forward, you can easily book it here.
It feels truly wonderful to be in relational creation in a spacious way these days.
It feels like a rich time of new friendships, new questions, new sensory delights.
It feels like late summer on a planet that provides us so much wisdom, such amazing fruits, tremendous beauty, and ample opportunities for gratitude.
